Lytro warm-up and ethics in fashion photography

1. What happened that I saw when I clicked on the photo was wherever I clicked on it focused on that one area.

2. This camera works by when clicking a certain spot it focus on that area that the camera struggled on and that was blurry.

3. A photographer would have to know about taking these kind of photos are, it would come appear fast and you wouldn't need to focus that much considering the camera would already do that.

4. I think that the camera is worth the money although all cameras are expensive this one is unique and different so I feel that it is worth the money.

1. The changes they made in the computer is that they made her lips bigger and made her shoulders and neck that was wide they lowered and made it smaller they made her eyes bigger and made her neck longer.

2. I think it is not okay to change a persons appearance and looks how they look is how they look and they don't accept there looks for who they are so they have to photoshop.

3. They are circumstances to do this when it starts not looking the person, I think that is ridiculous.

4. They type of changes are okay is that they made her shoulders not that wide and they raised her neck but what is not okay is that they made her eyes larger and her lips bigger.

5. Fashion photography is they change a persons appearance and looks and make them someone that there not photojournalism is help to make the image appear better WITHOUT changing their looks too much.

6. The relationship photography has to reality is you take picture of what you see, and you don't change the image of appearance you have fun with it, its photography. This effects the practice of each by your not practicing true photography your just photo shopping.

Self Portrait and Portraits Part 2

1. The best tips from the websites would have to be,

Think about your motivation and emotions: Blankly staring at the camera rarely gets good results. Be silly, don’t be afraid to over-act. The worst that can happen is that you fill up your memory card with useless photos; but you might also find yourself with a proper gold-nugget of a self portrait.

Use props! Are you a dad and a rocker? Bring your kid and guitar. Are you a photographer? Add camera gear. Painter? Paint. Poet? Words. Make-up artist? Guess… You get the idea.

Have fun with it. Be sexy. Be yourself. Be awesome. Be different. Be creative. Whatever you do, have fun with it. That’s part of the point, after all.
I liked this photo because I feel that it has a very good setting and background it sets the mood in the
photograph, I picked this photograph because I like the way the sun sets it would be hard to capture something like this.

I liked this photo because I feel that it has a good story behind the photograph and it might mean something.
I picked this photograph because I love to dance and seeing this photograph means they love to dance.
I liked this photograph because I feel that it is unique and its something that nobody else does.
I picked this photograph because its pretty cool how they photoshoot the person to appear twice right next to eachother.

I liked this photo because I feel that it shows his environment and who he is.
I picked this shoot because it shows what kind of person he is and I feel like the environment soothes him.

I liked this photo because I feel that it is very sentimental and very cool and unique how they captured a
perfect image of a baby. I picked this shoot because I like the fact that theres a mirror effect.

I liked this photo because I feel that its sentimental as well, which involved two couples in love,

American Soldier Slideshow and Captions

1A. The most powerful image in the slideshow would have to be the one where Buddha, Ian and Cody are saying their goodbyes, Because Ian says and promises that he will pray for his buddies and that he will fight for them as much as he can.

B. Set #1 Home at denver: 1- 9.
Set #2 Basic training: 10-49.
Set #3 In Iraq: 50- 70.
Set #4 Back in Denver: 70-83.

The set of images that was the most powerful was Home at Denver because this is when he is saying bye to everyone that they will miss him and pray for him. This is the scene where everyone cry's for Ian.

C. The images work together to tell a story by his life in Denver and then his life after Iraq they come together to say how he is strong he is being for leaving everyone in denver and going to go fight for everyone, it tells a story about his life span from then till Iraq.

3A. The tense that the verbs are usually written in an the captions of Ian would be Past tense: "I've been thinking about everyone" "I get attached to some of them" "Ian catches a smoke on the way to the camp"

B. The captions enhance the photographs because just by looking at the photo you can tell what there doing but the captions enhance and image and story in your head and tells you the meaning to that photograph and how sentimental that photo is.

4A. Image 38:
Ian catched a smoke in his bed, due to Ian was somewhere he is not suppose to be and is really struggling hard on his breakup with Kayla. Ians father is concerned about Ian being in danger of AWOL, Ian had skipped out on carson due to his breakup as well.

B. Image 4:
Ian had take one last trip to Elitch gardens Amusment park, he rode on the ferris wheel with his girlfriend and some other friends before leaving to Iraq. His girlfriend had kissed him on his cheek ad well.

C. Image 7:
Ian drove away leaving Shane and Buddha weeping and missing him realizing this is the real deal, while sitting on Shanes car. They had realized how real the situation was and couldn't handle it very well.

5A. These other features enhances the photographs by expressing the story of Ian and showing his story by the features to show how he feels and how his friends and family feels.

B. The videos are better than the photographs due to you can understand his story more, like Ian had said "I don't think mentally I could deal with actually being with somebody while I'm in Iraq." He couldn't commit to a relationship without not knowing what she's doing or not having his mind cleared about her.

C. The photos are better than the videos compared to you can relate to an image by reading the caption which makes you think and understand it more because your reading it and not just hearing it, like Ian had said "Im gunna fight for you guys everyday."

Aperture, Shutter Speed, ISO

ISO 200
 ISO 3200
F16

F 2.8
1. The part of the body that we should closely relate aperture is the human eyes.
2. The smaller the aperture the larger, the higher the aperture the smaller the area in focus.
3. Aperture impacts Depth Of Field by, in a photograph out of the whole photograph a certain area is sharp such as a picture of a person is sharp but the background is blurry, or the person becomes sharp and by changing apertures now the background becomes sharp as well.

High Shutter Speed

Low Shutter Speed

1 A)  Slow shutter speed causing blur.
 B) High shutter speed causing good defined photos.
C) High Shutter Speed causing good sunlight from above.
D) Low Shutter speed may be dim and hard to capture because of movement.
E) High Shutter speed able to capture good sunlight from the middle of the courtyard.
F) Low Shutter speed causing too much movement can be blurry.

 A) Low Shutter speed not being able to see whats going.
B) High shutter speed can include flash and if your good view of eating contest.
C) Low Shutter speed not being able to see above from way up high.
D) High shutter speed if you have flash and are able to view person in a good view.
E) Low Shutter speed not being able to see in the middle of courtyard causing major blurriness.
F) Low shutter speed can cause a lot of blurriness especially in the dark.

2. The Three settings a camera has is, "Aperture Priority mode" Which is you set the lens to the mode where the camera by itself automatically sets the mode to where the it goes to shutter speed.
The other setting can be "Shutter Priority mode" Which is the camera atomically by itself chooses the aperture and when you set it to shutter speed.
Another setting is "Manual Mode" Where you are able to set both aperture and shutter speed by yourself.

1. The advantages of a shoot at higher ISO at sporting events would have to be at a basketball game the ISO would come to be sharp and clear good lighting and due to the good lighting the ISO would capture the photograph together making it a better and more clear sharp image as due to the night football game using high ISO the photo would come out great without having to use flash because the ISO is higher.
2. The suggestions the author made about using low ISO is  the lower your ISO is the less sensitive it is to the light.
3. The higher the ISO is the number increases the sensitivity of your camera.

1. The amusement park I would consider on going to visit would be the one called " Prypiat" its an abandoned amusement park that involves bumper cars, that have been left to decay and be alone, I would consider on going to this amusement park because it looks like a very interesting place to walk around and capture interesting photos of roller coasters and rides that have been left to decay. It has been said that this amusement park is a place unsafe for humans, and its been a place that has been collapsed by weather and buildings. So I feel that some great photos would come out of this amusement park.

3. I think 5 interesting unusual places photographers would like to consider taking pictures at is:
    Africa

Great Black And White Photographers part 3

1. What caught my eye looking at my photographer "Stephen Shore" Is that I think that he picked inspiring photos and interesting photos you normally wouldn't see. In particular there was something that made me select those photos because it made me see photos I normally wouldn't see so I selected those because they were something different.

2. I see, Unordinary photos such as body's just grabbing and touching eachother and posing and some arms coming out of the ground like this kid is sad or something because the wall shows a sad face painted on.

I smell, a store of selected clothes and people getting ready in the back for a photo shoot. I would      be able to smell perfume, ciggarete sense there is a model smoking a ciggarete as he poses and the sweat of body lingering in the room from touching each other and being in a room where it looks hot.

I hear, cameras flashing because theres a photo shoot going on in the background and people talking because in the photo there are models talking while posing.

I taste, the sweet linger of perfume and the taste of ciggaretes because shown in the second photo there is a model posing while smoking a ciggarete.

I feel, the warmth of body's lingering in the room while everyone is posing because  theres so much body's surrounding in the room, I feel the dirtied floor because the photograph where the arms are coming out of the floor, the floor is dirty, I feel the excitement going on in the room about taking snapshots.

3. I would like to create posters, so classmates and everyone in the school can see my photography  because while students go to the restroom and wonder in the hallways or passing periods or going to class my photos may catch their attention and they are able to glimpse at what pictures I was able to take and they may like them.

Academic Shoot Reflection

1. The challenges I encountered was learning and having to remember what the rules mean and if I am even implying them right and have the right idea to what they mean.

2. The technical aspects I think that I found myself thinking about the most is I kept wanting to just take pictures of everything but I remembered that I had to stick to the rules of photography, I brought out my sticky note with the rules labeled and I would check off every time I took that snapshot.

3. If I could do the assignment again now knowing the basic rules of photography I could do differently is studied the rules more better so that I can stay focus on what they mean and go to more academic classes.

4. The things I would the same is keep in mind the rules and stay in science and cooking classes because they had a lot of academic activities going on.

5. The rule that I think would be the easiest to achieve would have to be Lines because I remember that rule very well because its simply and I get the procedure to what that rule means.

6. The rule that I think that is the hardest to capture is Avoiding Mergers because Its hard to remember what it means and it is hard to get a picture of a merger or of an avoiding merger.

7. The rule I am still not clear on is Avoiding Mergers, I could do to fix this is study that rule and maybe do some research so I could better understand what It means.
Framing:
How well I think that I followed the rule was pretty good I boxed my main subject trying to get the viewers attention to what I was trying to take a picture of.  My main subject is the person standing right in front of the camera holding a microphone and talking into it. I think that is clear to see what my main subject is in the photo, I could have done differently is picked a different background so that the full attention is on the person and have boxed my main subject better.

Simplicity:
I think that I followed this rule okay,  it is clearly shown the main subject and what he is doing.  The subject of this snapshot is the little boy sitting on the computer working on his assignment done in the book. I think it is clear to see what my main subject is because he's the only person that I'm focusing on. I could have done differently is probably zoomed closer in on him to focus more on him.

Rule Of Thirds:
I think that I followed this rule good, it is shown that If i were to boxed everything and divided it like a tic tac toe grid it would work out. The main subject in this photograph is the girl sitting in her chair looking and writing in her packet while she's singled out doing her work. I think that is clear to see what my subject is in this photo because it is shown that it is her. I could have done differently is zoomed out more to show griding better.

Balance:
I think that I followed this rule not so well, because It does show a little bit of balance but not so much of it.  The subject in this photograph is the three main people cooperating together to make strawberry smoothies while talking and deciding how to prepare the food. I think that its not very clear to tell what my main subject is, I could have done differently is get more people cooperating and choose a different background, and more zoomed out.
Lines:
I think that I followed this rule good, It is shown  that Im trying to demonstrate lines in this snapshot in the background. The main subject in this photo is the person sitting in the chair working in his laptop. I think that is clear to people what Im trying to demonstrate, I could have done differently is maybe move the chair and zoomed in more to focus more in the lines and the main subject.
Avoiding Mergers:
I think that I followed this rule not very well, Its not very shown well of a merger. The main subject in this photo is the strawberry smoothies. I think that is clear to people what my main subject is. I could have done differently is possible shown the person more but zoomed out as well.

1. My reactions to the power point is that I think that these photos are really really cool and its very amazing to see how they get these animals to do what there doing, How they get them to pose like this and how the photographer captures such great views. So detailed and defined, These photos amazed me.

This photograph is my favorite because I feel its very inspiring if you wanted to become a great photographer just by looking at his work makes you really think. This photo is touching and very sweet yet cool at the same time. By looking at this snapshot you could tell it wasn't very easy taking this photo  waiting on the perfect timing for the animals to touch heads. This is a great photo.

4. The Rules Of Photography that are evident in this photo are consisting of Balance, Therefore the photo is well balanced. Simplicity because the main focus of the subject are the lions. And Framing because the outside of the picture  or background focuses on the main subject.

5. The kind of camera the photographer used was Pentax 67, with a short lens.

6.  His reason for taking these photos is because one of his goals is being a record a visually poetic last testament to the wild animals and places there before they are gone at the hands of man.

7. His hope for taking these kind of photos are to reach a specific goal he wanted to achieve, and he feels that the habitat is being destroyed so he decided to take photos of these animals before there instinct.

8. "You still have people coming in and illegally killing the animals for food, taking down the wood for charcoal for firewood. And that is not just in Africa but everywhere. "

Filming The Frame: In this snapshot this is filled with frame because there smoke between all of the students and it looks like there experimenting with a chemical lab involving smoke this looks very interesting to know what the students are doing wether there doing a lab or not.
Action And Emotion: This photo explains action and emotion by the action showing that there constructing a chemical lab together and making a huge mess but while thats happening theres also emotion by the two students smiling and laughing and look like there having fun by the look on their faces.
The Story: This photograph visually tells a story by the two students bonding together and working together as it shows them trying to construct a house or a building while the two students are in the intense heat trying to construct a house for someone.

My favorite photo from Academics and Community Service would have to be the photo of a little boy sitting in the library ground reading and studying his sat books and act books and preparing for colleges and programs while several books are opened on the ground surrounding him while he's studying.

1. I selected this photo because I think that this photo was taken from a high up angle which was really cool that it was defined and able to show the title of the books and which books he was reading.

2. The Rules of Photography that are evident in this photo would have to involve Lines, Simplicity, and Framing.

1. Where I think I could take photos like the one I described above would most likely be the library because the little boy was reading and studying books in the library and there was several books surrounding him.

2. A classroom I would like to visit in would have to be the dance room, because I love dancing and I feel that there will be great photos for me take in the dance room of children dancing and jumping high in the air.

3.What I would do as the photographer to get amazing photos, I would have to follow The Rules of Photography to achieve great photos and take photos that are interesting and might have a story too but that are also photos that I think would be great snapshots to take of.

Avoiding Mergers: I selected this photo because I feel that it meets the standards of Avoiding Mergers, Which is to focus our eye on the subject whats suppose to be seen in the picture and not the background so you would select a picture where the subject is the main focus and the background won't grab your attention. Basically the technique is to avoid border merges and to look for plain backgrounds.
Framing: I selected this photo because I think that it meets the standards of Framing, Because Framing means frame the main subject your trying to take a photograph on but interest the subject with objects that are shown in the background such as the tractors and dirtied ground and mess collage in the background. Basically the effect of the technique is to add foreground to make the photograph more interesting.
Balance: I selected this photo because I think that this photograph meets the standards of what Balance means  therefore Balance in this photo means is to notice geometric shapes and lines for a better balance photograph, Such as the shapes of the cloud and where the placement of the objects are to balance the photo like the tree is in the bottom left corner.
Lines: I selected this photo because I feel that it meets the correct standard of what Lines mean such as the lines in the background grab your attention and add more to the photograph. Basically lines means to add lines to your center of interest such as the many lines shown in the background.
The Rule Of Thirds: In this photograph The Rule Of Thirds refer to dividing your picture into thirds and boxing it horizontally and vertically. I boxed this photograph and and everything fits just right. It implies to what the rules mean.
Simplicity: In this photograph I selected an uncomplicated background to steal the viewers attention to my main subject which is the tower. The background is just a plain blue background therefore the viewers are going to look at the tower.

My reaction to his work is I feel its amazing and it looks really cool how he decided to take pictures with the object over lapping more than once.

I think he made these photos by taking the picture once and then taking the picture the second time then the third time but now editing them and morphing them together.

I have seen some great buildings near downtown some pretty tall skyscrapers as well as buildings that are taller than skyscrapers, so I think that the skyscraper would be best to take photos like he did. These are located near downtown there are several of them its easy access to take photographs to them.

I selected this as my favorite.

I selected this photo because I think that it looks really cool that the book is also his face as well. I found this photograph in the category of Photo Journalist of the year (Smaller markets). This photo ended up to be found in first place, The photographer did that catched my eyes was the fact he used the contrast colors of black and white. I think the judges decided to make the arrangement of this photograph being first place because the contrast colors and the fact that his face is also made into the book. What the photographer had to do to make this photo unique is he had to make the colors to one color or else it wouldn't be shown that well as his face being shown in the book.

I selected this photograph because I feel sympathy for this strong woman for her to actually stand their and get her faced flashed by a camera knowing she's burnt. I found this photo in the category of Local Portrait and Personality. This photo won the award of being first place, What the photographer did that catches my eyes was that he just took a picture of her face to show the true inner beauty of how strong she is. I feel the judges wanted this to be first place because the story behind this woman and what she went through. What the photographer had to do to make this photo unique is they had to just take a picture of her face and let the rest explain by itself. Her face explains what she went through.

I chose this photo because I think that theres a cute story behind this photograph. I found this photograph in the category of domestic news, The award this photo won was first place. What the photographer did to catch my eye was take this photo on the scene of the streets surrounded around a riot of police. I think the judges decided to make this first place because of the photograph where the scene was taken. What the photographer had to do to get this photograph to be unique is to take this photo with a big riot of police and to take this photo from far away to catch whats going on.

Three things photographers should remember when out shooting are
 Take a photo showing perspective
Being able to capture a story telling expression is an awesome skill to have as a photographer.
AA good skill to have as a photographer is to look at things from different angles to get the best shot. shoot
